Social Activist and Author Patrick Hutchinson joins the Rio Ferdinand Foundation as an Ambassador.

Patrick Hutchinson, the renowned social activist and author of “Everyone Versus Racism” has joined the Rio Ferdinand Foundation (“RFF”) as an Ambassador and Advisor. Working with the senior management team Patrick seeks to bring another layer of focus and attention to the work of the Foundation supporting the creation and promotion of initiatives that tackle racism and division in society.

Since the June 2020 image of him rescuing a far-right protestor from serious harm during the BLM protests went viral, life has not been the same for Patrick. The Rev Al Sharpton, Michelle Obama and Prince Harry are among his admirers where he has engaged in real life conversations with them on the emotive subject of racism. His many media appearances and numerous awards have propelled Patrick into the public eye in a way he could never have imagined.

Patrick continues his community-focussed work relentlessly and is excited to have become a Rio Ferdinand Foundation Ambassador.

Rio Ferdinand and Patrick Hutchinson
As an avid football fan, I have appreciated Rio Ferdinand for many years for what he has achieved on the pitch, but also for what he has achieved in the community. That he is behind such a valuable and purpose-driven organisation as the Rio Ferdinand Foundation makes this ambassadorship an easy decision for me. I look forward to contributing to the fantastic work the Foundation does and to bringing worthwhile experiences and positive change to more young people in the UK.
— Patrick Hutchinson

For the Rio Ferdinand Foundation Patrick will play a pivotal role as a spokesperson and ambassador inspiring young people to be the drivers for change in their communities. A value driven organisation, established by Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, the Rio Ferdinand Foundation team are committed to powering potential and creating opportunities across the UK, Northern Ireland and Ireland, for young people.

Patrick will work alongside the senior management team and will be a key player in delivering workshops that inspire equality, inclusion, mental and physical strength.

I am delighted to welcome Patrick to the Rio Ferdinand Foundation team. His journey as a social activist, a writer and a campaigner for equality, diversity and inclusion have made him a recognisable role model for young people and I am looking forward to working with him in the coming months and years.
